NE240_4 12V is a 4 channels Battery Charger for sealed lead storage batteries. The batteries must be connected in series, nominal voltage 12V and capacity between 6-12Ah (at 1,8Amp charging current) or 15- 24Ah (at 4,0Amp charging current). It is possible to select the maximum charging current 1,8 or 4,0 Amp. All the battery chargers are operating individually and controlled by a microprocessor. A Control Panel with display will show all the relevant info concerning each battery and each charger.

The battery charger uses an algorithm which makes it possible to significantly reduce recharging time and avoid permanent damage to batteries.

It starts charging at maximum current CC until the battery reaches a voltage value of 14,4V. Then the output voltage keep constant CV until the current is less than a specific value. Then charging takes place at a constant voltage of 13,8V.

In this state the recharge current gradually decreases and the battery can be left permanently connected to the charger without causing it any damage.

CHARGING IS IN THREE STAGES:

Trickle: If the battery voltage is below the cut-off voltage (10,0 V), the charger will apply the trickle charge current (0,3A). In case of a healthy battery, as the charge is slowly restored, the voltage will increase towards the nominal range until it reaches the cut-off voltage. At that point the charger will advance to the next state, CC charging. When the battery voltage is above the cut-off voltage at the beginning of the charge cycle, the trickle charge state is skipped and the charger starts with the bulk charge mode. During this phase the relative charger is showing the phase on the main page.

1° step is a Constant Current Mode (max Current 1,8 or 4A ) until the battery voltage reaches up to 14,4V.

2° step is a Constant Voltage Mode (14,4 V), until the current drop less than 0,30 A (if 4A is active ) or 0,15 A ( if 1,8A is active) or Time Out.

3° step is a Standby Voltage Mode. The charger maintains the battery voltage at 13,8 V and current slowly reduces to zero.

The XCR0068 is a 12V, 10 channel battery charger for lead storage batteries. The batteries must be connected in series with a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 15 to 24Ah.

All ten of the chargers operate individually and are controlled by a microprocessor. The front display panel will show all of the relevant information about each individual battery and charger.

The battery charger uses an algorithm which makes it possible to significantly reduce recharging time.

It starts charging at the maximum current (CC) until the battery reaches a voltage value of 14.4V, then the output voltage keeps constant (CV) until the current is less than 0.30A, then charging takes place at a constant voltage of 13.8V.

In this state the recharge current gradually decreases and the battery can be left permanently connected to the charger without causing any damage.

CHARGING IS IN THREE STAGES:

1. Trickle: If the battery voltage is below the cut-off voltage (10V) the charger will apply a trickle charge current @ 0.3A. In the case of a healthy battery, as the charge is slowly restored, the voltage will increase towards the nominal range until it reaches the cut-off voltage. At this point the charger will advance to the next state (CC) charging.

2. When the battery voltage is above the cut-off voltage at the beginning of the charge cycle, the trickle state is ‘skipped’ and the charger starts in ‘bulk’ charge mode.

3. During this phase the relative charger is showing the phase on the main display.

Batteries 1,4,7 and 9: are in constant current mode (see figure 1 ‘CC’) 4A until the battery voltage reaches 14.4V.

Batteries 2 and 8: are in constant voltage mode (see figure 1 ‘CV’) 14.4V, until the current drops less than 300mA or time out.

Batteries 3 and 5: are in standby mode (see figure 1 ‘SB’) the charger maintains the battery voltage at 13.8V and the current drawn slowly reduces to zero.

Battery 6: is showing a warning symbol, if this happens the display will be red, battery 6 icon will be blinking and a buzzer will sound, indicating there is a fault.
