JOHN WILLIAM MACLEOD (1938-2006)
During the 1960’s John headed geoseismic exploration teams in remote regions of the world, using reflective shock waves to locate and identify potential hydrocarbon – bearing strata (anticlines) at sub-surface depths of up to several kilometres, prior to commencement of wildcat drilling.
In the 70’s john applied his expertise in the development and manufacture of remote controlled self-contained x-ray machines (internal crawlers) for the radiographic inspection of circumferential (butt) welds in long distance onshore and subsea pipelines during construction. In order to progress and extend his engineering concepts, John formed his own company, ‘John Macleod Electronics’, (now JME Ltd) in 1986 and among many important innovations and developments, his ongoing legacy continues.
JME values the building of long term business relationships both with its distribution network and end users alike. Throughout the 90’s many key relationships were established with multinational inspection companies and there are still in place and valued today. In 2001 JME expanded into new premises which better met our expanding customer base and business needs. With this expansion the employee count grew and the business now employs in excess of 40 staff. We benefit from many specialised disciplines and many years of experience within the industry. JME is a self-sufficient business, we pride ourselves on being an independent business who manage and control the production process ensuring an exceptional quality of product.
