OFFICE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER

Role: Reporting to the General Manager, this position support’s the company by organising and co-ordinating office and business operations and procedures ensuring organisational effectiveness and efficiency.

Office Manager Job Duties:

  • Day to day management by organising office and business operations and procedures.
  • Manage the company wide Health and Safety requirements/documentation, COSH, Risk assessments etc.
  • Manage Internal HR issues with the support of the General Manager.
  • Manage and oversee the company wide compliance to various regulations including ISO9001.
  • Manage and oversee the small finance and admin team.
  • Manages budgets, meetings, appointments, staff travel, staff visas etc.
  • Manage existing filing and recording systems whilst sourcing or creating more effective methods, manage the flow of stock such as stationery and other services whilst continuingly seeking more cost effective and or alternative suppliers.
  • Review and approve suppliers, assign and monitor clerical functions.
  • Keep management informed by reviewing and analysing requested reports.
  • Recording of meeting notes and summarising information, create and distribute next steps.
  • Create and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments.

Skills/Qualifications: Supply management, people management, NEBOSH/IOSH in health and safety or similar is required (training could be provided for the right candidate), tracking budget and costs, delegation, managing processes, working across departments, developing standards. Both a good understanding/experience of ISO procedures within manufacturing, accounts and GDPR experience/knowledge is desirable.

STORES/ PURCHASING/INSPECTION (APPRENTERSHIP ROLE)

JME is looking for someone to join their production and purchasing department to help undertake various roles to include stock control, inspection of goods in, and complete administrative activities at all stages of manufacture.

Working mainly within a small production department, this role requires you to communicate with a range of individuals and split your time between administration, inspection of goods in and production tasks. We are a market leading manufacturer of non-destructive testing equipment that is sold globally. Therefore an interest in engineering is very desirable for this role.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Checking goods inward such as component orders, metal stock deliveries and components such as fabricated and machined parts from suppliers.
  • Inspecting machined and fabricated components against technical drawings.
  • Compiling reports and preventing known issues from reoccurring.
  • Using a variety of different precision measuring equipment such as Micrometer’s, Vernier’s etc.
  • Preparing work packs for production.
  • Adhering and upholding company quality policies and procedures.
  • Ordering relevant stock.
  • Assisting with ensuring stock levels are accurate at all times.
  • Booking goods in and out on our stock control system.

The Ideal applicant will:

  • Be a good communicator.
  • Computer literate, both on MS, and for data entry on an in-house software system.
  • Interested in engineering.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask.
  • Be able to work under pressure.

Desired qualifications: Ideally GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English, mathematics and Science or equivalent. Full UK Drivers license advantageous but not essential.

INTERNATIONAL SALES (Apprentice)

JME is offering a unique opportunity for an individual to join their sales team. This apprenticeship represents the chance to be involved in a unique and exciting industry and offers the right candidate a long term career. Whilst initially beginning as a clerical position our international sales team is involved in a wide range of tasks. This role will provide exposure to a variety of activities and also a constant opportunity to learn and develop. The role will involve extensive communication both internally within the business and also globally across our customer base. JME are a market leading manufacturing company who boasts an excellent reputation within the non-destructive testing and examination industry.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Preparation of internal shipment documentation, submission of documentation as necessary
  • Communication, both face to face and also by telephone with end users/customers globally to provide updated information
  • Completion of legally required HMRC import/export documentation
  • Preparation of various internal reports for use across the business
  • Managing specified parts of the sales process on internal CRM system
  • Working in accordance with all necessary ISO9001 procedures
  • Managing JME’s diverse international customer base ensuring excellent customer service

The Ideal applicant will:

  • Communicate effectively and confidently to a variety of cultures and management levels
  • Be computer literate in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Have the ability to learn new/bespoke computer systems
  • Be able to work methodically and accurately under pressure
  • Have a passion to learn new technologies and be interested in electrical engineering
  • Have excellent attendance and punctuality with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Possess the ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Be able to work methodically and accurately under pressure
  • Possess a “can do” attitude and be a team player

Desired qualifications:

GCSE Grade C/4 or above in subjects including English, Mathematics, Science and I.T. A full UK driving license would be advantageous to your application
