JME Magnetope

JME pipeline crawlers can be supplied with a Magnetic Control System (Magnetope), in place of the conventional isotopic control system. This system uses a magnetope to replace the signaling isotope and a magnetic detector unit on the crawler to replace the normal GM detector unit.

The Magnetic Detector Unit is fitted in the same way as the GM Detector Unit.

The Magnetope is used in the same way as a radioisotope to signal the crawler. The Magnetope is switched 'on' by turning the power key switch to 'enable' followed by pressing the green button located below the carry handle, a green LED will illuminate to indicate that the Magnetope is operational. The unit is switched 'off' by pressing the red button under the carry handle followed by turning the key switch to 'disable'. The power output of the Magnetope can be increased or decreased via a dial also situated below the carry handle.

The JME Magnetope can be used with any JME Crawler systems with magnetic detector boxes, All JME crawler systems can be converted to magnetic systems.

The magnetic detector comes in two models, standard & high sensitivity, the standard model has a maximum wall thickness of 20mm (Steel), the high sensitivity is 40mm maximum wall thickness (Steel).
